Screenwriters in the Sky

The Screenwriters in the Sky Workshop and Symposium is an opportunity for emerging screenwriters to spend time learning from some of the film industry's most successful professionals.  The weekend includes presentations by producers, screenwriters, entertainment attorneys, agents, and editors. You will also have the opportunity to have one-on-one sessions with these various professionals to collaborate on current and future work. Mountains to Desert Ride

The Mountains to Desert Ride is a grueling bicycle race from Telluride to Gateway Canyons, Colorado. The goal is to raise $90,000 for the benefit of the Just for Kids Foundation.  Participants can choose between four routes: Telluride to Gateway Summit Loop, 133 miles Telluride to Gateway Canyons Resort, 103 miles Norwood to Gateway Summit Loop, 100 miles Norwood to Gateway Canyons Resort, 70 miles

Imogene Pass Run

What began as a way to train for the Pike's Peak marathon in 1974 is now a full-fledged race. The race from Ouray to Telluride over the 13,114 foot  Imogene Pass . This is a 17.1 mile point to point mountain race. The pass is a 4x4 dirt road that passes through mining ruins, up jagged peaks, and above treeline. The runners finish at the  Sheridan Opera House on Oak Street in Telluride.  Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared for any and all conditions. KOTO Doo-Dah Concert

KOTO, the local Telluride radio station, throws an annual fundraiser in the form of the Doo-Dah concert. Lake Street Drive have been performing for nearly a decade after meeting as fellow students at the New England Conservatory in Boston. Telluride Top Chef is an annual Chef cook-off and wine/beer/food tasting benefitting The One-to-One San Miguel Mentoring Program. The One-to-One programs seeks to empower youth in San Miguel County to achieve their social, emotional, and academic potential through professionally supported mentoring relationships.  The 2013 Top Chef competition will feature Peter Cumplido of the Hotel Madeline's M Restaurant, Johnny Gerona of Bread and Roses Catering, Stephen Roth of Allred's Restaurant and Telluride Ski Resort Executive Chef, Eliza Gavin of 221 South Oak, and Dustin Smith of Honga's Lotus Petal. Telluride Art Walk

The Art Walk takes place from 5PM-8PM on the first Thursday of every month (excluding May and November) and features 15 different venues showcasing new exhibitions and artists.
