Telluride FIRE Festival

January 15th-17th, 2016. It’s a bit early to have information about the 2016 Telluride Fire Festival, but it’s not too early to book lodging. Many veteran festivarians book their condos and hotel rooms a year in advance and the town of Telluride is mostly sold out six months before the festival! Come back later for more information on this festival.   A NEW Telluride festival, The Telluride Fire Festival will be centered around a free public and interactive experience of fire artistry. The fire displays will occur from when darkness falls to late evening on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Baker's Dozen

In the summer of 1947, thirteen men at Yale University with an unrivaled passion for music and revelry banded together to form the dynamic brotherhood known as The Baker’s Dozen. From the Yale campus to the Hollywood Hills, the Baker’s Dozen performs for audiences of all sizes. Every year, the Baker's Dozen combine music and comedy on stages in schools, clubs, restaurants and private parties across the nation and throughout the globe. Baker’s Dozen concerts feature an engaging mix of traditional favorites and contemporary hits, from the time-honored “Loch Lomond” to The Temptations, Neil Diamond, Ben Folds and others. Once pronounced by Bob Dylan as America's "greatest living poet" acclaimed singer-songwriter Smokey Robinson's career spans over four decades of hits. Founding the Miracles in high school, Robinson penned such hits as "You've Really Got a Hold On Me," "The Tracks of My Tears," and "Tears of a Clown" (co-written with Stevie Wonder) and eventually became the Vice President of Motown Records. The Sheridan Arts Foundation and Project Clean Water present acclaimed singer-songwriter, actress, poet and philanthropist Jewel at the historic Sheridan Opera House on Monday, Dec. 28 at 8 p.m. Tickets for this intimate solo acoustic evening are $125 and $200 reserved seats and all proceeds benefit both the Sheridan Arts Foundation, the non-profit that owns and operates the Sheridan Opera House and Jewel’s non-profit Project Clean Water. The Sheridan Arts Foundation kicks off its 2015 Holiday Concert Series with Amy Helm & the Handsome Strangers on Sunday, Dec. 27 at the historic Sheridan Opera House. The daughter of Levon Helm, of The Band, Amy has been making music for most of her life. She's garnered widespread praise as a singer, songwriter and live performer first as a member of the celebrated alt-country collective Ollabelle and her extensive work with her father. The Sheridan Arts Foundation and Black Tie Skis presents Teton Gravity Research's latest ski film, "Paradise Waits" at the Sheridan Opera House on Dec. 11 with two screenings at 6 and 9 p.m. As the days turn into weeks and the weeks roll into months, it's the moments when everything seems to come together in perfect harmony that resonate the loudest. For those who anticipate winter's arrival with frothing mouths and the dreams of what may come, this past year came with an unfamiliar set of struggles as these perfect moments became more and more elusive. But for the TGR team, this only hardened their pursuit of winter's rewards. Tickets are $15 and we'll be raffling off sweet schwag and a free pair of skis at both screenings.

Telluride Horror Show Festival

October 16, 17 & 18, 2015 marks the 6th annual Telluride Horror Show, which makes it Colorado's first and longes-running horror film festival.  This 3-day genre film festival is located here in Telluride, Colorado. Screenings of the latest horror, fantasy, and sci-fi films will take place throughout the weekend at the Sheridan Opera House and the Nugget Theatre. The festival screens an average of 20 feature films and more than 30+ short films. Telluride Choral Society: The Dream Lives

It is estimated there will be 100 singers from Durango and Telluride that will be performing music created by locals Dr. David Lingle and Dalen Stevens. In addition, there will be a 21 piece Chamber Orchestra. Dr. Lingle (deceased January 2013) was the Telluride Choral Society Director for over 7 years.
