Saturday, December 27 2014. One of the hottest bands to play at this year's 2014 New Orleans Jazz Fest, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will be playing live at the Sheridan Opera House! Friday, October 24th. The Telluride Theatre & The Palm Theatre present their version of the famed cult movie.
October 11, 12, and 13, 2013 marks the 4th annual Telluride Horror Show, a 3-day genre film festival located here in Telluride, Colorado. Screenings of the latest horror, fantasy, and sci-fi films will take place throughout the weekend at the Sheridan Opera House and the Nugget Theatre. The festival screens an average of 18 feature films and more than 20 short films. Additionally, they host special programs, guests, and a party. Festival Passes: 3-Day Pass ($60) - Purchase a 3-day pass and you will have access to the 11 films in addition to the opening reception with attending filmmakers. The Screenwriters in the Sky Workshop and Symposium is an opportunity for emerging screenwriters to spend time learning from some of the film industry's most successful professionals. The weekend includes presentations by producers, screenwriters, entertainment attorneys, agents, and editors. You will also have the opportunity to have one-on-one sessions with these various professionals to collaborate on current and future work. The Mountains to Desert Ride is a grueling bicycle race from Telluride to Gateway Canyons, Colorado. The goal is to raise $90,000 for the benefit of the Just for Kids Foundation. What began as a way to train for the Pike's Peak marathon in 1974 is now a full-fledged race. The race from Ouray to Telluride over the 13,114 foot Imogene Pass . This is a 17.1 mile point to point mountain race. The pass is a 4x4 dirt road that passes through mining ruins, up jagged peaks, and above treeline. The runners finish at the Sheridan Opera House on Oak Street in Telluride. Remember to dress appropriately for the weather and be prepared for any and all conditions.
