Wednesday, May 20, 2015 7:30-8:30 pm Twenty(x)Telluride is a series of fun, lively, fast paced slide presentations that  provide an intimate peek into the creative minds at work in the Telluride Arts District.    Each presenter gets exactly 20 slides that are shown for exactly 20 seconds each.  Presenters are challenged to share what makes them tick—they’re asked to talk about their inspiration, their creative process, and their muse.  Each presentation is about six and a half minutes long, and there are generally five presenters in an evening. The event is held in the historic Sheridan Bar, and has a casual, fun, social vibe. The lineup is  Craig Childs, Jedidiah Jenkins, Ben Ayers, Geneva Shaunette, and Emilie Lee, with Naani Sheva as the emcee Here’s the math...

Friday, May 1, 2015 – Sunday, May 3, 2015 Young People's Theater presents "Beauty and the Beast" adapted and directed by Jennifer Julia starring 25 students grades 3-5. It's the classic tale of Belle, a book-loving beauty who doesn't quite fit in the local villagers. When she finds herself a prisoner of an enchanted castle (where clocks, candlesticks and featherdusters walk, talk and sing!) Belle meets the terrifying Beast (a Prince who is under a sorceresses' spell). Over time, Belle and Beast learn valuable lessons about compromise, celebrating each others' differences and the power of friendship.   The play is at 6:00PM Friday and Saturday, and at 2:00PM on SUnday. Opera’s most enduring tragic double bill returns in an evocative new production from Sir David McVicar, who sets the action across two time periods but in the same Sicilian village. Marcelo Álvarez rises to the challenge of playing the dual tenor roles of Turiddu in  Cavalleria Rusticana  and Canio in  Pagliacci . Rae Smith ( War Horse ) has designed the moodily atmospheric 1900 village square setting of  Cavalleria , which transforms to a 1948 truck stop for the doomed vaudeville troupe of  Pagliacci . Graffiti ranges from simple written words to elaborate wall paintings and drawings that have been scribbled, scratched, or sprayed illicitly on a wall or other surface, often in a public place.” Kevin Pashayan's debut exhibit challenges the audience to consider the artistic merits of Graffiti Writing despite its notoriously illegal execution.
