Painting with Encaustic

Saturday-Tuesday. August 8th-11th. 10-4PM. $610 tuition+$85 materials Students must also purchase required materials on their own. Students will be guided in basic and advanced techniques for creating works that are rich in layers and transparency. Encaustic equipment, history and safety will be addressed. Hike into History: Lewis Mill

Saturday, August 8th. 8AM-2:30PM. $20. $15 for members. Meeting at the Historical Museum at 8AM, hikers will carpool to the Bridal Veil Power Plant, where the hike will begin. 4x4 vechiles are required for the drive from Pandora to the power plant, but carpools can be arranged. Participants should be prepared for 5-6 hours of moderate to difficult hiking at altitude. Bring water, rain gear, a hat, sunblock, lunch or a snack, and any other gear you may require. Monoprinted Cloth and the Stitched Mark

Youth Acting

Monday, August 3rd - Tuesday, August 4th . 2-5PM . $150 . AGES 8-12 Kids aged 8-12 get the opportunity to engage in improv exercies, storytelling, trust exercies, image and mirror miming, and vocal and physical warm up exercies in this two afternoon acting class. Students will learn tools for creating/acting in their own way. This class will be taught by  Keith Jefferson , who was a supporting castmember in The Hateful Eight, which was partly filmed in Telluride last winter. To register for the class, click HERE .

Throw a Cup, Form a Bowl

Mondays. August 3rd- September 14th (no class September 7th). 6-9PM.  $300 tuition+$50 materials. Adults & 16+ Learn the art of working with clay to create functional vessels such as cups, bowls, plates, vases and more. Students will explore a variety of techniques in the class, and are then encouraged to focus on whichever technique suits them best. Fabric Dye Studio for Surface Designers

Saturday- Sunday. August 1st-2nd. 9-12noon*. $120 tuition + $55 materials * This same class is also offered in an Afternoon Session for 1-4pm each day. In this two-day open studio, students will explore a multitude of approaches in hte application of dye to woven cloth. The class is in an open studio structure, allowing support for students of all levels of experience.  The materials fee includes dyes, chemicals and miscellaneous supplies, but NOT fabric. Box Canyon Running

Saturday, August 1st. 55 Mile Trail Run : 5:30 AM Start Time. Cost of $125. Starting and ending in the Town of Telluride. Racers will go up the Telluride Ski Area, to Ophir, to the top of Imogene Pass, and finally returning to the Telluride valley. Bridal Veil 25K Trail Run : 8:00 AM Start Time. Cost of $50.  Starting and ending in the Town of Telluride. Racers will go up the Telluride Ski Area, to Bear Creak, and an ascent down the Wasatch Trail returning to the Telluride valley. Bear Creek 9 Mile Loop : 9 AM Start Time. Cost of $35. Starting and ending in the Town of Telluride. Racers will go up the Telluride Ski Area, and then drop into Bear Creek which will lead them on their return to the Telluride valley. To register, click HERE .

Many Hands Fiber Arts Festival

The 2ndAnnual Many Hands Fiber Arts Festival seeks to bring together fiber arts artists of all ages to exhibit, educate, and learn about the diverse methods of fiber arts creation. Styles include knitting, quilting, textiles, weaving, needlepoint, embroidery, felting, crochet, and more! The festival also includes an extensive sale that will be held at the Telluride High School throughout the weekend.
