Bluegrass Baby!

Posted on June 18, 2010 by Hart - Comments
Hey yall, so shocker on today's topic: the Bluegrass festival. So far for me there have been two major highlights: Dierks Bently and Alison Krauss. Both were very different and yet entirely festivarian focused experiences!

Hola

Posted on June 14, 2010 by Hart - Comments
Hey! Hart isn't writing this guys, Ginny is. I just thought you should know off the bat. And hopefully I can give yall a fresh perspective on Telluride. I have been coming up here my whole life. When I was young, my family came up just about every summer to enjoy the hiking and the wildflowers. To tell the truth, when I was particularly little, the wildflowers were my favorite. It makes sense though, seeing as my uncles gave me piggyback rides all the way up my "hikes". Come July the flowers just explode onto the mountain and Telluride is alive with color.

The Melodians Come To The Sheridan Opera House

Yesterday, March 31, The Melodians played at the Sheridan Opera House. This was one of the last major shows the Opera House had before the off season and boy oh boy it a great way to go out!

Saint Patrick’s Day

Posted on March 25, 2010 by Jennifer - Comments
Saint Patrick’s Day had to be the funnest (yeah…. I know it’s not a word) day that I have ever had on the mountain! I started off the day heading out with a couple of friends just thinking it was going to be a normal day of riding. Much to my surprise by noon our group had multiplied and we were now mobbing down the mountain with a group of over a dozen. It was a prefect spring day; by far the warmest weather I have experienced on the mountain.

Friendly Visit From Phoenix

Posted on March 11, 2010 by Jennifer - Comments
One of my best friends from Phoenix came up to visit me last week. She came up with Alpine Ski Club; they gave her a smoking deal on her trip due to the fact that she stayed with me.

Mountain Bucks

Posted on March 1, 2010 by Jennifer - Comments
I just booked my first reservation the used “Mountain Bucks”. I never realized how great of a deal it is! After a guest departs they have the ability to receive a coupon in which is worth 10% of their recent stay, simply by filling out a guest review (flipkey.com). What a great way to reward loyal customers for giving their feedback!

Settling Into My Internship

Posted on February 24, 2010 by Jennifer - Comments
I’ve been in Telluride for about a month and a half now and am starting to get the hang of things. A few weeks ago I started answering the phones, the first day was really nerve racking, but it has gotten a lot better with time. Surprisingly I have gotten a lot of opportunities to view the majority of properties both at work and on my own personal time.

Prospect Bowl

Posted on February 18, 2010 by Jennifer - Comments
A couple of weeks ago a group of friends took me out to do some runs in prospect bowl. It’s a great run, but if you don’t maintain speed it’s quite easy to get stuck, which normally results in the infamous boarder bobble hobble. Needless to say, I ended up doing the BBH several times, which became quite frustrating. Instead of letting it defeat me, I decided my goal of the next day was going to be making it from top to bottom without getting stuck.

Palmyra at the Peaks

Posted on February 11, 2010 by Jennifer - Comments
The question of the night was…“what is there to do in Telluride on a Tuesday night”? After debating for a couple of hours, the group finally decided to make the venture up to Mountain Village. Our finally destination would be Palmyra at the Peaks.
