Friendly Visit From Phoenix

One of my best friends from Phoenix came up to visit me last week. She came up with Alpine Ski Club; they gave her a smoking deal on her trip due to the fact that she stayed with me.

Prospect Bowl

Posted on February 18, 2010 by Jennifer - Comments
A couple of weeks ago a group of friends took me out to do some runs in prospect bowl. It’s a great run, but if you don’t maintain speed it’s quite easy to get stuck, which normally results in the infamous boarder bobble hobble. Needless to say, I ended up doing the BBH several times, which became quite frustrating. Instead of letting it defeat me, I decided my goal of the next day was going to be making it from top to bottom without getting stuck.

My first day on the mountain!

Posted on January 16, 2010 by Jennifer - Comments
Saturday was my first day riding in Telluride. For the past week I had been walking around town watching skiers and snowboards shred down the mountain, so it was nice to finally be ale to get up there myself and see what it’s all about.

2009/2010 Winter Ski Season Kicks off!

Posted on December 1, 2009 by Hart - Comments
We are ecstatic here in Telluride for the 2009/2010 ski season! Thanksgiving day (while the turkey was in the oven) the chair lifts started up, skis came out, the sun was shining and we gave thanks here in Telluride for the beginning of the winter ski season. For the second consecutive year, Telluride was ranked the #2 resort in North America in the Conde Nast Reader's Poll. On opening day, a light dusting covered the slopes and with a base of 20" inches, we're gearing up for another "Unmatched" ski season here in the San Juans.

Sledding, fun for all ages!

So the lifts are closed for the day but you still have a craving for MORE snow... take the family sledding by lift #7! The other day, some friends and I went to lift #7 to get our powder fix and try out our new sleds we had bought... Needless to say, it was one of the best times i've had away from the slopes. Check out the pictures!

Big snow storm hits Telluride early!!

Posted on October 29, 2009 by Hart - Comments
Winter is officially here and it's been an exciting week gearing up for the 2009/2010 ski season. As the last couple Aspen leaves trickled to the ground, a cold wind ripped through town on Tuesday and you could smell a storm was brewin. It all started, Tuesday the 27th, when the local weather report was calling for 1-5 inches of snow in Telluride - a light "dusting" to help get the skies out of the storage unit (yes, 5 inches is a dusting here in Telluride). Little did we know that Colorado would receive its largest storm in October in over 100 years.

Ski the Chutes! ~ Added Terrain to the Telluride Ski Resort

Posted on April 17, 2009 by Hart - Comments
By maintaining its "Unmatched in North America" standards, Telluride Ski Resort has just recently opened new terrain for all to enjoy! New terrain always brings a smile to the faces of locals, die-hard skiers, and the experienced tourist and with the opening of Gold Hill chutes 6 through 10; this will truly put Telluride into a whole new bracket. This past weekend, after I watched my own NCAA bracket crumble in upsets, I decided to ski away my tournament worries and hike to Gold Hill Chute #9.

Palmyra Peak opens!

Posted on February 21, 2009 by Hart - Comments
Voted "Best New Terrain 2007-2008" by Skiing Magazine, the Palmyra Peak hike-to terrain is now open for the 2009 season! Claimed by some as the "Most spectacular in-bounds terrain in North America", Palmyra Peak is a true experience and is right outside our back door! With waist deep powder, this hike-to terrain has some of the best turns around and breath-taking views! This could be you...

Ruby Takes on Telluride Trail

Let me begin by saying that I am not an advanced skier. While the footage from last month's entry is amazing- courtesy of fellow sales team members Chris Esch and Hart Roberts- it's just not my speed. One question we get a lot is, "is the mountain ok for beginner skiers." I can say with the up most confidence- yes, it is.
