Hey yall, so shocker on today's topic: the Bluegrass festival. So far for me there have been two major highlights: Dierks Bently and Alison Krauss. Both were very different and yet entirely festivarian focused experiences!

Dierks Bently played for Nightgrass. Wednesday night my friends and I made our way to the Sheridan Opera House, a pretty fun little venue, and danced our way to the front of the floor! The Sheridan Opera House has two levels so those wanted to sit and enjoy from the balcony had a prime view of the band. And those of us standing on the main floor got to be in the swing of things. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing the concert amongst a bunch of fellow country lovers!

Now for Alison Krauss: she played last night at the Town Park for the actual bluegrass festival. She was incredible. After inhaling my tofu stirfry I settled in with my aunt and uncle to listen to her sing. Her voice is purity incarnate, and I'm not exaggerating. We ended up winding our way up to the front just to be closer to this tiny woman singing such delicate and beautiful songs. The whole crowd (and it is always a large one at bluegrass) sat in the dark mesmerized by her voice.

And tonight I get to hear Lyle Lovette!

Bottom line, put Bluegrass on your bucket list. Attending this festival is a must do!
