First Night in Telluride
« Back to Telluride Hotels Blog
Before unpacking my belongings I was ready to see what Telluride had to offer. We first drove up to Mountain Village to have a wonderful spaghetti dinner. After letting our food settle, we headed out to the Gondola station to meet up with some people for a night of fun.
The Gondola ride was by far one of the coolest pubic transportation rides I have ever taken. Many of the homes in Mountain Village still had their Christmas lights up, it was really pretty. Coming over the mountain looking down into the town of Telluride was quite majestic, I felt as if I was in a scene from Harry Potter.
The first place we went to was the New Sheridan to have a Colorado brew. Not too long after I was whisked away to the next watering hole to meet up with some more people.
Once arriving at the Bubble Lounge the first matter of business was trying their oxygen bar. I figured I could use all the extra oxygen I could get since in a matter of a couple of hours I went from being at 1,142 feet to 8,750 feet. While there, we also snacked on a phenomenal pizza, in addition to the pitchers in which we got for a steal! Lastly we fished the night up at Fly Me To The Moon Saloon. Coincidentally there was a reggae band playing that night. The girls and I danced the night away to the rhythmic sounds of the islands.
I really like the fact that everything in Telluride is within walking distance. One thing I surely don’t miss about Arizona is paying over 30 dollars (one way) for a cab … better safe than sorry!
