Saint Patrick’s Day

Saint Patrick’s Day had to be the funnest (yeah…. I know it’s not a word) day that I have ever had on the mountain! I started off the day heading out with a couple of friends just thinking it was going to be a normal day of riding. Much to my surprise by noon our group had multiplied and we were now mobbing down the mountain with a group of over a dozen. It was a prefect spring day; by far the warmest weather I have experienced on the mountain. Gorrono’s Ranch was definitely the place to be, we made two pit stops there. It was great to relax in the lounge chairs while soaking up the sun. For a moment I felt as if I was in Arizona, until my day dream was abruptly ended by a huge smack in the face with a snowball.

The “Liftie vs Ski Patrol” softball game also took at the bottom of lift seven after the mountain closed. This was a really fun free event which had a really good turnout. In celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day I made cupcakes with green frosting, they were such a hit even some of the local dogs tried to indulge. Many of the competitors dressed up in silly outfits which definitely kept the crowed entertained. It was so funny watching them shuffle around on skis and snowboards. After battling it out over the course of 6 innings, the Lifties came out on top with a 12-6 win!
