Telluride Aids Benefit (TAB) Sneak Preview Fashion Show

Telluride Aids Benefits (TAB) mission is to help generate financial support for those who are fighting HIV/AIDS and enable them to receive the proper care and programs. TAB is more than just a fashion show; it’s a series of week long events such as awareness discussions, parties, auctions, etc. Throughout the week I attended several events, one of which was the sneak preview fashion show held at the Telluride conference center on Thursday, February 25th.
When it came to day of the event I was super excited to see what they hype was all about. As soon as I got off work (my internship), I rushed over to a friends house to get dolled up for a girls night of fashion, food, and fun. Living in telluride, my fashion has become quite casual so it was nice to have an excuse to break out the dress, heels, clutch, and glam makeup. Before I knew it, all the girls were accounted for and it was time to take the Gondola up to Sued in Mountain Village. While there we had some very unique appetizers and drinks such as cosmos with the ultimate citrus flair. You can’t beat a well shaken cosmo made with a lime rind inside the shaker and an orange zest lit with a match, giving a roasted top layer to the pink cocktail … Yum Yum Yummy! After enjoying such deliciousness we rounded up the crew and headed over to the show.
Once arriving at the conference center, it was more than obvious this was a big event. It turns out that both shows were sold out and those who slacked on snatching up tickets early were in the standing room only section. Just moving through the crowd took a strategically plan, within a matter of a minute our group had become disbursed, but just in the knick of time we were able to re-group. We had awesome seats and had full view of the stage. Within moments the house lights dimmed down, the music began to thump, and the runway became flooded with vibrantly cutting edge fashions. It was more a performance than a traditional show, but needless to say it was extremely entertaining. Lasting well over an hour, you definitely got the most bang for your buck.
My favorite part about the entire weekend of events was the designer trunk show. For all you fashion buffs out there, this is a must go to event! All of the fashions that hit the run way and other select pieces from the designers were not only showcased but for sale. I was able to snatch up a couple of skirts for 5 dollars a piece… what a great deal!
