Get your sweat on for a good cause before the rest of the day's festivities!  The 4th of July kicks off with the Telluride Foundation's Rundola, a recreational foot race to benefit the Telluride Foundation. Participants begin at the base of the gondola in the town of Telluride and finish at the top of the ridge adjacent to the San Sophia gondola mid-station.  Runners follow the Telluride Trail (4.600 feet long, 40 feet wide, 13% uphill grade) or can simply bushwack to the finish. The elevation gain is 1,810 feet from start to finish. Participants are grouped by age and gender into categories for the race.  You can register for the Rundola  here .

4th of July in Telluride is small-town American at its finest. We really do it up here -- running races, parade, BBQ, family games in Town Park, airplane flybys, and fireworks. About the Ride Festival: It’s a bit early to have information about the 2017 Ride Festival, but it’s not too early to book lodging. Many veteran festivarians book their condos and hotel rooms a year in advance and the town of Telluride is mostly sold out six months before the festival! The Telluride Art + Architecture Weekend provides an insider’s look into the creative talent within the Telluride Arts District. Over the course of two days, the tour will span five venues per day. Stops include prestigious new and historic homes, studios, restaurants, and alternative venues. The Hardrock Hundred Mile Endurance Run is an ultramarathon of 100.5 miles, 33,050 feet of elevation climb, 33,050 feet of descent for a total elevation change of 66,100 feet ran at an average of over 11,000 feet. The race is held on a loop course, including 4WD roads, dirt trails, and cross country terrain in Southern Colorado's San Juan Mountain range.  The run begins and ends in Silverton, Colorado and travels through Telluride, Ouray and the ghost town of Sherman, and crossing 13 major mountain passes in the 12,000 to 13,000 foot (elevation) range. Completion of the event is marked by kissing the Hardrock, a picture of a ram's head painted on a large stone.  This is a graduate level endurance run. The Ah Haa's annual fundraiser has been a must-attend summer event. Both art lovers and community members support the Ah Haa School by bidding on a wide range of work created by artists in and out of Telluride. Typically, more than 100 artworks and myriad services and excursions donated by the region's artists, businesses and supporters of the school are auctioned in live and silent auctions. The Telluride Yoga Festival began in 2007 with Jivamukti instructor Aubrey Hackman's vision for a yoga event that went beyond physical exercise. The festival not only provides yogis of all experience levels with an enriching practice experience and allows the opportunity to have a positive impact on the world.  Hackman, a passionate environmentalist and animal rights activist, structured the festival around the teachings of karma yoga. Each year, 25% of the net proceeds are donated to a local non-profit whose mission is to help protect and preserve the earth.  The festival includes presentations, guided meditations, community yoga classes, special events, and evening classes. A 100 mile mountain bike race commencing and culminating in the Town of Telluride. The first expected riders crossing the finish line between 1:30-2PM.
